What steel is it?
High-carbon stainless steel, not Damascus. Any pattern on the blade is a decorative finish. Stainless is tough, resists rust and is easy to look after, which makes it a good everyday or first set.

Care
Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry straight away. Never the dishwasher. Store on a magnetic block, strip or in a blade guard. Hone every few uses and sharpen on a whetstone every few months. Use a wooden or plastic board.
